Coenzyme Q10 is part of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. Production declines with age and is depleted by statin drugs. Ubiquinol is the reduced (active) form, more bioavailable than ubiquinone.
Dose: 100-200mg ubiquinol daily, with fat.
Caveats: Interaction with warfarin. Most beneficial after age 40 or on statins.
