FOXO4-DRI (D-Retro-Inverso) is a synthetic peptide that selectively kills senescent cells — the 'zombie' cells that accumulate with age and drive inflammaging.
Mechanism — Disrupts the FOXO4-p53 interaction that normally protects senescent cells from apoptosis. Free p53 then triggers cell death specifically in senescent cells. Healthy cells are spared.
Use case — Investigational longevity protocol. Cycled dosing (3 consecutive days every 1-3 weeks). Animal studies show improved kidney function, fur regrowth, and physical activity in aged mice.
Caveats — No human safety or efficacy data. Apoptosis-driving therapies have non-obvious risks. Wait for human trials before adopting.
