Snap-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is an extended version of Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3), with two additional amino acids and stronger binding to SNAP-25.

Mechanism — Inhibits SNAP-25 within the SNARE complex, reducing catecholamine-driven muscle contraction at the dermal level. Mimics the 'Botox' pathway topically but at a fraction of the magnitude.

Use case — Topical anti-wrinkle products, particularly for forehead and crow's feet expression lines. Effective concentrations 5-10% in serums.

Caveats — Topical peptides have penetration limits — much weaker than injectable neuromodulators. Consistency over months is required for visible effect.
